Kim is a dental hygienist, who specializes in preventative dentistry. She started working in private practice in 2009 as a dental assistant and receptionist. She has also completed her certificates in dental assisting, dental radiography, and oral health education prior to proceeding in achieving her Bachelor’s degree of Oral Health in 2013 at the University of Newcastle.
Kim constantly keeps up to date with the latest developments in oral health, hygiene, and other aspects of dentistry by attending continuing education programs. She has a special interest in oral health education, periodontal therapy, and teeth whitening.
It is of great importance for Kim to help educate patients on how to look after their oral health in the best way possible in a way that suits them. When patients leave the treatment room, they will have gained a wealth of information.
Outside dentistry, Kim enjoys watching movies, a good coffee (recommendations always welcome!), and spending time with her family.

Do we need to be trained to use airflow?
Did you see after implementing GBT also an increase of referrals from the hygienic department up to the dentist due to detecting more indications and clients trusting more the findings ?

I have stopped using Airflow since Covid-19 due to concerns there is more aerosolisation of saliva compared to ultrasonic scaling and prophy. Have there been any studies on this?
