What is the Covid-19 crisis doing to our mental health?

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us all in varying ways. It is understandable that we may feel worried and anxious in these unprecedented times. In this session, Roisin will discuss how COVID-19 is affecting peoples’ mental health and wellbeing and share some potential support strategies.

Roisin has worked in the oral health field for over 30 years. She currently works part-time at the University of Melbourne as a Lecturer in Oral Health and is also employed by Dental Health Services Victoria as the Manager of the Dental Teaching Clinic at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne.
She has qualifications in dental assisting, dental hygiene and dental therapy. She also has a Graduate Certificate in International Health, a Master of Public Health (Sexual Health) and a PhD in oral health promotion. Never one to stop learning, Roisin has recently enrolled in a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching. She is also an accredited Mental Health First Aid instructor and delivers MHFA training to dental practitioners. Roisin is a passionate advocate for the oral health professions and has been actively involved in the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia for many years. In her (very limited) spare time, Roisin enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking and camping.
